Meet the artists of Royal Guardian Studios. RGS is actually a mother and daughter team. The pair have been doing manga style art for the last couple of years. The business officially started up April 1st of 2011 upon applying for a state tax ID. Tirzah & Lily are pen names and these are the names we normally in use with the public.
Tirzah MacLeod, the senior partner attended The Art Institute of Dallas 1992 to 1994. Her focus was on interior design with a desire to move into set design for film, television or theater. After an internship at Kalogridis International working in a hot warehouse with no air conditioning Tirzah was ready for something else. She pressed on working on "Night Must Fall" which took "Best of Show" in 1994/95 at the Mesquite Theater. Upon working on "The Diary of Ann Frank" in Duncanville, little did she know her partner was nine months from making her way on to the stage. The next few years proved devastating to Tirzah's health rendering her unable to build props or work on sets. Soon she turned to painting as a release to express her creativity.
October 2nd of 1996, Ms. Lily Fox entered this act of the play. With a constant eye on mom's paintings and the desire to assist she was always ready with a box of crayons. Disappointed at only age three, that her art did not satisfy her the then senior partner advised her, "It as in anything you do well, you must first practice a very long time to see your art the way you want it to be. Nothing of worth happens overnight." At age 10 she announced she would become a manga artist and or illustrator. Now at age 15 Lily has polished her skills quite well. She has had certificates of achievement in art at more than one school. She has also attended a manga workshop at the Dallas Museum of Art at age 12. As time allows she studies and works on her technique every day of the week.
In support of Lily's dream, Tirzah has taken on the task of supporting her in her efforts. She is now her background artist, creates some of her story boards and writes for her. Both with a deep affection for the genre they press forward forging a strong team to open doors to a bright future. To gain income to support their manga division Tirzah learned enough from the Social Media world to support posting local business on social media platforms and building small websites as well.
